When we were looking to buy a condominium apartment, I asked Michel Bergier of the Taber Team to assist us find the retirement place of our dreams. This was a tall order as we had a very specific community in mind, a set budget and most of the research and exchange of information would have to be done through Email and the Internet because, you see, we live in Toronto, Canada and were looking to retire in the St. Petersburg area…
Michel was more than up for the challenge, working with us for months through cyberspace to identify suitable properties and finally arranging visits to a dozen or so when we visited the area during the last Holiday Season. Michel drove for several days back and forth from Sarasota to St. Pete to show us the properties and was with us when we made and concluded a contract and later closed the deal on a beautiful penthouse at PYCC. His shrewd negotiating skills helped us get the property at a price we never thought we could get.
Michel’s expert advice, persistence and friendly and courteous service allowed us to make our dream come through. We cannot recommend him enough and will be sure to tell all our Canadian and American friends to look nowhere else for all their real estate needs.

To Whom It May Concern:
My wife and I were looking on the internet for property in the Sarasota area and found two properties in our price range. I contacted Michel Bergier at Prudential Palms Realty and told him we would be in the Sarasota area and asked if we could look at the two villas. He called back saying he would be happy to show them and would also show us some other properties in the area. Thank God he found the properties he did, as the ones we found ourselves were in very poor shape, needed a lot of work, and were not in the best neighborhoods.
Michel showed us a villa that was extremely clean, well maintained and in a beautiful neighborhood. It was a little more than we wanted to spend, but he suggested we make an offer within our price range and see what happens. He and his partner Betsie Taber wrote an offer and a great letter to the owner. Well, after just a couple offers back and forth, we had a home.
Michel and Betsie continually went above and beyond the call of duty, getting a closing agent, phone numbers for all the utility companies we’d need and researching insurance companies to get the best price for homeowner’s insurance. They really did their homework on this one and the closing took a total of 14 minutes!
Now, a month and a half later, they’re still in contact with us, keeping us updated on the value of our purchase. They also stop in occasionally and check on the house to see if all is fine while we’re away.
They are the people you definitely want to work with when looking for or selling your property. They truly go out of their way to help you.

So much goes into feeling comfortable with a realtor. Much has to do with personal care and efforts made to make the experience easier, especially in today's difficult environment. Our experience with Betsie and Michel (The Taber Team) was very comfortable. Both are true professionals. They were always ready with market information when we needed it. They kept in touch with us every step of the way while we were selling our house and when we had to purchase another home, we knew we could count on them to make the process run smoothly.
Betsie and Michel always took that extra step, for example, taking down three light fixtures and installing them up in our new house. This alone saved us a few hundred dollars. Before closing, they went around to our new neighbors collecting signatures on a welcome card so we would “know” some of our neighbors when we arrived. A month after closing, one of those neighbors told Betsie and Michel that we had a sprinkler problem and they took it upon themselves to make sure the problem was taken care of, as they knew we were back in New Jersey.
We would highly recommend this team and plan to use them again to purchase a home for our son. They have earned our loyalty.

Michel was responsible for finding me the home of my dreams. He and I actually met by chance one day when I was fixing my wife's bike and he came over and offered his assistance. When I learned that he was a real estate agent, I began asking questions and telling him exactly what I wanted in a house if I were to purchase one. That same afternoon, he e-mailed me several homes that fit the requirements I had given him.
The rest is history. Michel was there for me whenever I needed him. He is extremely reliable, responsive, and was able to provide me with excellent resources regarding attorneys, home inspectors, etc. This was especially helpful since I was new to the Bradenton, FL area.
Needless to say I highly recommend Michel to anyone looking for a home or property. You will never be sorry.

We decided to come to the Sarasota, FL to spend the winter and have a look around to see if we liked the area. First order of business was to find an apartment. We asked Betsie & Michel (the Taber Team) to find us a place to stay. Well they searched and searched and eventually found us a terrific apartment in a great building in central Sarasota - well appointed and convenient to everything. Then they negotiated a great rental rate for us - significantly better than was originally proposed. And then - there was a little problem with on-going construction at the building and Michel helped negotiate a rent reduction. Michel told us several times of the great cross border banking plan that the Royal Bank of Canada has for Canadians who spend considerable time in the southern US (particularly Florida) and we established a US account with them which greatly facilitated our stay in Florida.
On arrival they showed us all around Sarasota and helped make us feel at home right away. We spent some time getting to know Sarasota and the region and they were extremely helpful in that regard. As soon as we decided we wanted to look at some properties, Betsie & Michel swung into action. Even though we were not sure initially what we wanted they showed us a number of properties throughout the part of town we were interested in. We did not find anything that popped out but they persevered. We wanted a bargain or we would not buy. Although initially focusing on a condominium apartment building, through long discussion with Betsie & Michel we decided we were not ready to spend 5 months in a concrete box in the sky. So we decided to broaden our search to townhouses and with their untiring help and assistance, we found one in the most fabulous community. Then they swung into action to get us the best price. The Taber Team were able to negotiate a terrific deal that the seller could not refuse.
Then we had to organize an inspection, lawyers for closing, insurance policy, renovation contractors and all those things that new properties require but can be daunting tasks for those who are not from the region. Not a problem, as Betsie & Michel gave us the names of terrific people to handle all of these items and more. They also put us in contact with a highly recommended international currency exchange agency who got us very good rates to convert our Canadian currency into US dollars for the purchase. The property purchase and closing was a snap, thanks to all of the efforts of Betsie & Michel, (the Taber Team)..
We would highly recommend anyone looking for a place in this part of Florida to use the services of the Taber Team. They are consummate professionals who work their butts off for you and go way beyond what you would expect from real estate agents.

Michel an Betsie were our third agents in attempting to sell our house. It had already been on the market for 1 1/2 years.
Above all, both were truthful in their assistance and comments. Good or bad news, we knew exactly where we stood every step of the way. Several times they went to bat for us during the closing process.
We did not live in the house while Betsie and Michel had the listing. Many times both actually did improvements on the house including painting, mulch, and lighting.
You could not have better agents to handle your needs. Both went above and beyond the definition of Real Estate agents.
